Hi Folks, although this blog is almost at the end, an update of my business at the moment, speedskating! Winter in The Netherlands with lots of ice means plenty of joy for me and my family. This afternoon we were in the area of Loosdrecht and Kortenhoef. Speedskating: the best thing you can do at the moment (in my opinion). More updates coming soon...

One of the wow-moments of a nice weekend on Texel with my wife. Of course I bring my camera with me when we make trips like these. In the upcoming days I'll post two or three images about the force of nature on my other blog. We had the luck to be on the island with stormy wheather conditions. Impressive to see the combination of that wind, the dunes, a rough sea and the sunlight.

Enough holiday pictures for the moment. Time for something else. In the past I made some studio pictures of fruit and objects on a bright white background. This time I tried the opposite and worked on a black background. Lit with a Bowens kit and shot with the lens wide open I got this atmosperic picture of this piece of fruit.

It's a bit busy at the moment, but... When you're busy take second or some, to look back at a tremendous holiday. Oh you didn't have the time or money to make a trip? I'm sorry for you, then just sit back and watch to the great mountains on your screen.

Wow, sometimes the pictures of my trips to the mountains give me feelings of nostalgia or even 'homesickness'. It's so nice to be there, fulfilled by nature, no words...

At the start of our trip in Austria, fresh snow came down. The next morning on sunday, we woke up in a totally white world. Although we were well prepared, in these circumstances you better go down into the valley. But before we went down, we had a nice sunday high in the moutains in a cold, silent and white world. At the picture you can see the Obstanser See, with the lodge where we slept two nights, close to it.

Due to the 'bad' wheather, I've made lots of 'bad' pictures... Okay, most people want a clear blue sky and thirty degrees C, but hey, look at this picture. It was spectacular being on the Lagazuoi (close to the refugio, looking to the west) in the Dolomites, surrounded by clouds and sometime great views. For us it was breathtaking.

Austrian dogs

After a period of vacation and trips to France, Austrian and Italy, there are plenty of nice pictures to post. So in the upcoming weeks I'll post some very exciting pictures of the Alps and the Dolomites. But these two 'mountain' dogs deserve a post either. (They belong to the host of the Silianerhutte in Austria)

kitten in black and white

First of all I'm not an animal-lover. I'll accept them but keeping pets in my home, means two gold-fishes and no more. So this nice kitten isn't mine, but... During a wedding shoot this kitten was laying on the couch and waiting to be portraited. Secondly you have to know I do love black and white photography and playing with DOF (depth-of-field). This explains why I love this kitten uhm, the portrait of this kitten.
